Enjoy the Trails of HCMUD 278
Harris County Municipal Utility District No. 278 provides recreational walking trails where residents can exercise, enjoy the outdoors, connect with neighbors, and experience the community’s natural beauty.
Woodland Pines Walking Trail
Located within the Woodland Pines community, this trail provides a convenient and scenic route for residents looking to stay active and enjoy the outdoors.




Laurel Place Walking Trail
A neighborhood walking trail that offers residents a safe and accessible location for daily walks, jogging, and recreation.



Blackstone Creek Walking Trail
In the Blackstone Creek area, this trail provides additional recreational opportunities and outdoor access for District residents.



Trail Rules & Guidelines
To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all residents, the following rules apply to all HCMUD 278 recreational facilities and walking trails. These rules were adopted by the Board of Directors on April 24, 2017 and apply to all District park and trail facilities.
The Following Activities Are Prohibited:
- Use of motorized vehicles or watercraft.
- Carrying or discharging fireworks, air guns, bows and arrows, blowguns, darts, or slingshots.
- Skateboarding.
- Children under the age of 12 using District facilities without adult supervision.
- Swimming, wading, floating, or bathing in District facilities.
- Allowing animals to roam freely. Dogs and house cats must be leashed with a cord or chain no longer than six feet.
- Failure to pick up and properly dispose of pet waste.
- Fishing in any District pond, lake, drainage ditch, or recreational facility.
- Horseback riding within District recreational facilities.
- Damaging, cutting, breaking, injuring, defacing, or disturbing any tree, shrub, plant, rock, monument, fence, bench, picnic table, structure, apparatus, or District property.
- Removing wood, turf, grass, soil, rock, sand, gravel, landscape material, or fertilizer.
- Bringing in or disposing of outside garbage.
- Leaving trash, bottles, cans, paper, or other refuse anywhere other than designated receptacles.
- Lighting, building, maintaining, or burning fires of any kind.
- Carrying glass bottles.
- Carrying or consuming alcoholic beverages.
- Selling or offering food, beverages, merchandise, or services without written District authorization.
- Camping overnight or using recreation trails after dark.
- Gambling or wagering activities of any kind.
- Using threatening, abusive, insulting, or other fighting words.
- Committing obscene, lewd, indecent acts, or creating a nuisance.
- Disturbing any picnic, meeting, service, concert, exercise, or exhibition.
- Posting or distributing advertisements, handbills, notices, banners, flags, or other promotional materials.
- Conducting or soliciting business, trade, or professional services.
- Using amplified music, speech, or sound equipment in a manner that disturbs others.
- Participating in activities that the District determines may create a danger to the public or constitute a public nuisance.
- Engaging in disorderly conduct as defined by the Texas Penal Code.
- Using District facilities outside of permitted hours. Facilities are open from dawn to dusk unless otherwise posted or authorized by the District.
- Using District facilities for purposes other than those for which they are intended.
Firearms
Firearms may only be possessed or carried in District facilities as permitted by applicable Texas law. Users are responsible for complying with all state and local regulations regarding firearms.
